Falling for someone can be dangerous, especially when someone wants to take them away from you. But what happens when fighting for the one you love could cost them their life?
For over two years, Summer Jacobs has tried to get her life back on track. A former nurse and now a prestigious restaurant owner, she’s living the dream just like her husband wanted. After watching him get killed in the MMA ring and almost losing her life herself, it left a scar on her soul. The thought of moving on scares her, but the local NFL star, Evan Townsend, is determined to catch her heart.
Forced to work with him and the football team, Summer succumbs to his relentless attempts at capturing her heart. He has the power to heal her, but there’s someone out there who wants to keep them apart. Even if it means getting rid of Evan permanently. Summer is being chased by hidden dangers and it’s up to Evan to catch her. The question is . . . will he get to her in time?
Summer has lost her husband in a very horrible way. It has been two years and she still feels the hurt and loss like it was yesterday but her sister and friends have been helping her to try and move pass the pain. Evan has been attracted to Summer since he meet her but has been waiting for her to be ready.
To start of this review I have to say I can not even imagine witnessing what Summer did when her husband died and the pain of trying to move on when you miss someone you loved so much. Summer goes through so much in this book. I thought her character was so strong and you really can not help feeling so bad for her and understand why she would be nervous and unsure of taking the next step with someone else.
Evan was so caring when it came to Summer and so willing to wait for her to be ready for something more with him. He was also so protective of her which made me love his character so much more.
You will get suspense in this book while they are trying to figure out who is after Evan along with steam between Evan and Summer which was so hot! This book was both beautiful and so painful because of everything that Summer has been through and the way Evan cared so much about her and vice versa. I just loved how this author grabbed me from the start of this book and I could not put it down until the end. L.P. Dover makes you feel what these characters are going through and you just can’t help rooting for them to find there HEA.
I received a ARC of this book through Netgalley from the publisher for a honest review!
